David

Does the portable version create a log file? I couldn't find it.

The nightly build is worse. Previously it opened and immediately crashed. Now I get the crash dialog before as soon as I double click the exe, I don't even get to see Explorer++ before it crashes.

I cannot locate a temp file using Explorer++ in either portable or registry mode.

Ok, there's a bug in the current nightly build which could cause it to crash if not run on Win 7. The nightly build will be updated when I commit next, which should be within the next few days.

Don't worry too much about the dump file for now - check the next nightly build when it goes up, and if it still crashes, I'll go from there.

Hi,

I have some information to share.
I had VS2005 on my dev system and explorer++ was working file (no crashes V.1.1 anytime).
For personal reasons, I unistalled VS2005 and switched to VS2008 SP1.

Boom: E++ started to crash everytime I open it.
I just posted this. It may be of some use to you.

And Yes, I changed the option to "Load default tab on startup, and to My Computer". Things are working fine now.

@David Explorer++
I just tested the nightly build. It still crashes if set to Load Default Folder and the default is not Computer.

I have added my "default" to the toolbar so as soon as I open Explorer++ I can click that.

The downside is I cannot leave a bunch of tabs open but for my use, I can live with that.

Ok, I've finally (!) been able to duplicate this bug. Tonight's (22/07/2010) nightly build will contain the proposed fix. Let me know if it still crashes.

Just ran a few tests on the nightly build and it now seems to be OK. Many thanks for fixing this.

Hello

The night build apparently fixes the crash issue of the official 1.1 version.
My system is Vista Home Premium 32bit French, entirely updated.

However, with this hight build, clicking on a folder in the right pane always opens a new tab, at variance with the standard behaviour. This is quite frustrating...

Thank you and congratulation for your tremendous work!

Hello,

similar behaviour here. Until today, I thought the crashes after start were somewhat related to loose ends in the config file,
at least I could revive E++ with my backup config.xml most of the time.
But from today, E++ always crashed at start, even with my relative clean xml.
Deleting the xml file lead to start E++ in the default layout, which is far away from my favourite layout...

After reading this thread, I also tried the nightly build (I normally don't use nightly builds).
However at least I can start E++ at all, but a double- click on a folder in the detail window (or right pane or tab)
opens an instance of the MS Windows Explorer (!), where it should just switch to that directory (one of the reasons why I normally don't use nightly builds;-)

What happens here?

Apart from that, E++ is a great program. I like it very much, and I'm glad that David made E++ at all:-)

Great job!

Regards

Ray
