I have a shortcut (.lnk) on my desktop. I'm viewing the desktop in both Windows Explorer (XP SP3) and in Explorer++.
BUG 1: In Explorer++, I have "Always Hide the .LNK extension" unchecked. It should show the .LNK extension. It does not.
The file I am testing is a Link (.lnk) file called "» Dev Tools.lnk" that points to a folder called "C:\DevTools". It works fine when I double-click on it in both file managers.
BUG 2: If I try to rename the file in Explorer++, it drops the .LNK file extension and renames the shortcut "» Dev Tools (rename)." instead of "» Dev Tools (rename).lnk". This breaks the link functionality in both file managers.
If I add ".LNK" in Windows Explorer, it works again in both file managers. If I add ".LNK" to the file in Explorer++, it doesn't fix the problem and it asks what I want to open it with.
I tried this with other folder links, and it works the same. I thought it might be the character "»" (hold ALT, enter 175 on your number pad, release ALT). However it doesn't work for any links. Hope this info helps! Let me know if you have any questions regarding these bugs.
EDIT: BUG 3: If I highlight files, right-click, select Copy, then navigate to the destination folder, right-click and Paste the files, it should ask if I want to over-write the files. Instead it copies all of the files, and changes the names of the files to "Copy of " + original filename.
I'm attempting to use this as a replacement for the Explorer in Vista and Windows 7...
Shortcuts, Extensions and Filenames

Re: Shortcuts, Extensions and Filenames1: If you're navigating to the desktop using the root desktop node in the treeview, or through Go->Desktop (in both cases the status bar will display 'Virtual Folder' in the second segment), then this is essentially expected behaviour.
2 & 3: Fixed in the development version.
